Is that a tooth???

Bryan turned three months old today and we think he might be getting his first teeth.  We have started to notice two little white spots on his bottom gums that feel like little teeth buds that are about to break through.  He has been drooling and bubbling like crazy and anything that gets near his face goes straight to the mouth.  Emma got her first two teeth at three months so I guess early teeth run in the family...let's just hope if these are teeth that Bryan will take Emma's lead and not learn to bite Mommy when he eat

Big boy in his exersaucer!

Wrist rattle in the mouth...

And the rings go straight to the mouth!

First week back at work. . .

This past week was my first week back at work since I had Bryan. Although it was hard to leave the kids I know they are in good hands with my Mom. I also have the benefit of being able to work from home part time, so three days per week in the office and two days working from home- feel like I couldn't be more lucky. Growing up I always wanted to be a mom, but I also wanted an exciting career and with my current job I am able to do both!!

p.s. I am writting this while both my kids nap at the same time...this never happened during the twelve weeks I was off work!!!

Busy Weekend. . .

The Shortall Family had a busy weekend, Patrick's 27th birthday was Friday, Valentines Day on Saturday, and Bryan's baptism on Sunday. Friday night we celebrated Patrick's birthday with cake and presents at the house. Saturday morning I suprised Patrick with a couples pedicure for Valentine's Day (he won't admit it but I think he really enjoyed it!!) and Patrick surprised Emma and I with some gifts including a new purse for me and a BIG ballon for Emma. Saturday night we had my parents, sisters Lindsy and Haley, and Lindsy's fiance, Juan, over for dinner (burgers and rockets on the grill)...and my parents showed up with two more guests, my sister Chelsey and brother-in-law Brandon. Chelsey and Brandon surprised us and flew in from Missouri for Bryan's baptism. I was so surprised and happy they made the trip, it made my weekend!! And Bryan's baptism on Sunday went great, he didn't cry at all (the swim coach in my Dad swears he already loves the water!)

(Happy baby!)

(St. Vincent's has a neat tradition of having the children in the congregation come forward after the baptism to welcome the baby to the church by tracing the sign of the cross on their forehead)

(Bryan's baptism)

(Emma found the price tag on her balloon and thought it was a sticker so she gave it to Bryan for Valentine's Day!)

(We ran to the mall on Valentine's Day and Emma insisted upon wearing a "horsey" (Polo) hat like Daddy)

(Emma and her Valentine's balloon)

(Patrick's homemade birthday cake, made from start to finish while Bryan napped and Emma had quiet time in her room!)

New toy, old toy

Emma has rediscovered her Cozy Coupe.   She got the Coupe for her first birthday but never really seemed to enjoy playing in it; a few weeks ago we were at a friends house and their little boy had his out and ever since then Emma won't get out of hers!

Bryan's new toy is his tummy, he absolutely loves having tummy time, it even calms him down when he is fussy (goes to show that every baby is different- Emma fussed every time we put her on her tummy)

Cute Pics

Bryan woke up early from his nap the other day and Emma was still napping so got to take some cute pics of Bryan while he played on Mom & Dad's bed.

The BUMBO Chair

Bryan really enjoys being held as though he is sitting up so we thought we would give the BUMBO chair a try (it was Emma's that's why it is purple!!).  He still needs a little more head and neck control to sit in the chair on his own but he kept laughing and cooing every time I would let go of his head/neck, it was really cute.

Just some pics...

Just a few recent pics of the kids...

Emma's JEEP

So Patrick has been obsessed with getting Power Wheels for the kids, not sure why?? When I was pregnant with Bryan he collected close to 10 of them from Freecycle and Craig's List, none of which worked. We had a garage sale last weekend and I made him sell all but two. On Tuesday I took Bryan with me to a funeral (mother of a friend from high school) and Patrick and Emma spent the afternoon fixing one of the Power Wheels he kept. Check out the pics of Emma cruising in her JEEP.

8 hours!!!

Bryan slept 8 hours straight on Saturday night!! He usually does a 5-6 hour stretch so 8 hours was a big jump- unfortunately Emma woke up in the middle of the 8 hours (she had to go pee pee).
