A work in progress...

Patrick has always had an entrepreneur spirit and I think it is really starting to show. We get asked all the time where we by our cloths diapers from, so Patrick finally decided to inquire into the approval process for selling some of our favorite cloth diaper brands- Cotton Babies (BumGenius), Happy Heinys, Thirsties, etc... We have started to get our approvals back and so it looks like this is something we are really going to pursue. It will start with online sales but hopefully we can make a physical presence at various events and meet with cusotmers on an appointment basis- interestingly enough when we were buying Bryan's BumGenius diapers there was not a single retail location in Tarrant County that sold BumGenius...so who knows maybe a retail location is in our future!! It is definitely still a work in progress but if you need cloth diapers, know of someone who does, or are just more interested in finding out what all is involved in using clothing diapers vs. disposable let us know!!

Soccer

Today was Emma's first soccer practice/game. She was suppose to start last week but it got rained out, so this was a long week of soccer anticipation. She was SOOOO excited and it was so cute to see her with all her soccer gear on! She did a great job during practice and followed all the directions for the drills....when it came to the game, well let's just say it's a bunch of 3 and year olds trying to play soccer and I almost wet my pants laughing it was so cute!! Emma did a great job of running, I mean sprinting (she's got some speed!) up and down the field, but she wasn't quite sure what to do when she got next to the person who had control of the ball...guess we've always taught her to take turns and not steal toys from other kids and here we are yelling from the sidelines "take the ball away." She had a great time and has been talking about it non-stop all night long!!

(yes, they told the kids to put their heads on the ball- they were learning about what body parts can touch the ball and which cannot- i.e. their hands)

Race

A post all about mommy, unheard of!! I ran my first 5k since before I got pregnant with Bryan. I finished 5th in my age group with a time of 26:21. A couple pics from the run, cannot believe I'm posting them because they are not very flattering- guess I'm just proud of my accomplishment!! Looking forward to the next race!!!

Mom and Haley brought the kids out to watch since Patrick had to work

Lilly's Birthday Party

We had a great time at Lilly's 4th birthday party this Saturday...Emma LOVES birthday parties and she has been talking about Lilly's (her "best friend") party since we got the invitation several weeks ago!! Great job Amy, another wonderful party!!

(Emma loves the pretend lawnmower the that Crissey's have in their backyard, she wants to play with it every time we are there!...she ran right past the jump house and straight to the lawnmower when we first got to the party)

New PJs

Thanks Nana for the new PJs!!

(Emma's morning hair- gotta love naturally curly hair!)

Zoo, Football, Hot-Air Balloons, and the best part is...

...the kids were so pooped that they both feel asleep before 7pm tonight!! We started out the weekend with a trip to the Zoo to meet up with Vanessa and Gregory. The weather was great, the Zoo wasn't too crowded and the kids were all in good moods! Next we headed over to Lindsy and Juan's new house to watch the Tech game. Yes, we are sad Tech lost...but they did come to play and put up a good fight so we're not too upset. Honestly, we were really worried that they were going to eat us alive, especially after last year, but that didn't happen!! We left the game watching party at half time to get the kids to bed because we woke them up at 5:30am this morning to head out to the Plano Balloon Festival. The kids had a great time watching the balloons launch at sunrise and it was another beautiful morning. After we had enough of the balloons we headed into Dallas to surprise Ann/Grandma. She made us a great breakfast and she wasn't even expecting us (haven't had bacon, eggs, and pancakes for breakfast in forever, hmm!!) Emma was scheduled to have her first soccer practice/game this afternoon but it was cancelled because the fields were too wet from all the rain this week...guess we'll just have to wait a week to see how cute she looks in her little shin guards and cleats!!
Of course there was a longhorn calf in the petting zoo at the Zoo, Patrick stood in front of the pin for forever flashing his guns-up...had to pull him away from the area because he was starting to get some looks from the kids!

The boys are still young enough that they got a giggle out of just sitting on the ride without us actually having to feed the machine with quarters!

Emma milking the fake-cow at the Zoo!!
Emma practicing "Guns Up" before the game!

Bryan practicing some football poses before the game, we're working on the Heisman- not quite there yet.

I got one of the professional photographers that was out taking shots of the balloons to take a family picture with our camera...Emma has a camera-man phobia right now and so she refused to look at the camera, oh well!

Bryan keep looking up towards the ballons that were taking on and saying something that sounded very similar to "up"

When did out kids get so grown up???

Conversation I had with Emma yesterday afternoon went like this:
Me- Emma please go put on your shoes.
Emma- No!
Me- Emma, Mommy is telling you a second time please go put on your shoes.
Emma- Mom, I'm just being difficult.
YES, she really said that!! She has been trying to interject big words that she hears Patrick and I say into her conversations, and it looks like she put one big word in the right place!!

Tonight we took Emma to get the rest of her soccer gear- soccer cleats and soccer socks! She was so excited to pick out her cleats, she settled with a silver and pink pair of Nikes because they didn't have her favorite color- orange. Cannot believe she's already old enough to play a team sport! I'm sure we'll have lots of pics after her first practice/game this weekend!!

On the way home from getting Emma's shoes we stopped to get ice-cream cones from McDonalds. As soon as I reached in the back to hand Emma hers Bryan started crying hysterically, and he loves to ride in the car so I couldn't figure out what was wrong. He cried the whole way home. When we got to the house I got him out of his carseat and he reached for my cone. I let him hold it and he instantly stopped crying...he had been crying because Emma got a cone and he didn't!! I let him have a few licks and got a chance to get a couple cute pics!!

Rainy Weekend

I guess it's a good thing it rained all weekend because we've all felt a little under the weather :( !! It was a good weekend to spend inside and hopefully start feeling better!! Here are a couple pics from our weekend indoors!!

Bryan has so badly wanted to sit at the table in the playroom with Emma when she sits down to color, cut, glue, etc... We decided to put him up there today and gave him a piece of paper and a toddler color, he thought he was such a big boy!!

Bryan doesn't usually hang out in the front part of house but I let him do some exploring this weekend and he found the front doors!

Emma and Bryan enjoying a snack (so funny to see the contrast in their hair colors!)

Emma enjoyed a couple movies on the couch...we tried to get her to watch Disney's Earth while Bryan napped but she asked so many questions about the animals that we had to turn it off because it was waking Bryan up!

Bryan showing off his "cheese" - he now says "cheese" and smiles really big whenever he sees a camera!!
